Answers to the questions about Maslenitsa

Задорнов.jpg After a post about Maslenitsa, we received a lot of questions, I am personally encouraging. Not all of us have lost the natural inquisitiveness of the Russian mind! Despite the current education reform.

– What kind of holiday is Komoeditsa?
– Is it true that Slavs celebrated the New Year in March?
– My father told me that Komoedica and Maslenitsa were one and the same holidays the ancient Slavs. What do You know about it?

These and similar questions are enough to try to answer them.

– You are a Christian, but you protect the Gentiles. Aren't you ashamed of it?
– I’ve read in Wikipedia that the Slavs week consisted of nine days. In another source – eight days. But You write that it was seven days. So where is the truth?
– Everything that You have written – nonsense. There were no Maslenitsa and Easter before Christianity. It's all fiction.

I don't even know where to start and to whom specifically.

I'll try to explain my point of view, based on the study of chronicles, fables, myths, legends, fairy tales, old Russian and European encyclopedias (especially British, published before the First World War). I also had the opportunity to celebrate the Slavic folk holidays in Belarus near the Latvian border at the Braslav lakes a couple of times.

In short, there are many sources, it is impossible to mention all.

N.B.! Don't try to compare my narration with Wikipedia! This is my logical reasoning, based on the collection of different facts. You will never know enough of Wikipedia in order to compose the truth picture. Wikipedia is good only for students who are doing homework or course work. In addition, Wikipedia has no information and data that managers considered as unnecessary and outdated. But this information often contains the true.

I'm guessing our lost past, trying to understand the natural wisdom of the holidays, felt like Sherlock Holmes and Marinina (Russian writer of detective stories) at the same time.

I will start with the answer to the easiest question. I don't know where it comes from, that the Slavs week lasted nine days. I nowhere, except for modern "visionaries", did not meet such information. Our natural ancestors lived - I repeat my favorite word - natural! Seven days - cycle of the moon. It was not a digital calendar. The calendar was based on phases of the moon taking into account the movement of the Sun across the sky. The calendar did not depend on numbers. Day and night caught up with spring and a new year has begun! No matter from the 21st to the 22nd March or from 22nd to 23.

Of course, when the world has become a business, the slaveholders, later the feudal lords, then the capitalists and businessmen began to rule the world. People began to use digital calendars. But it is impossible to digitize the nature. There is no accurate calendar in the world, despite all precise modern devices. Only ancient calendars did not contain errors. Because they were not calculated and was consistent with the phenomena of nature. And most importantly - with the Sun and the Moon.

To the question about Comoeditsa. This holiday actually existed. It was celebrated right in the spring equinox days. The word "comoeditsa" from the word "comy" - "pancakes" in Belarusian. However, the claim that Comoeditsa and Maslenitsa in the past was one and the same holiday is wrong. There is a significant difference even between "comy" pancakes that was baked during Comoditsa, and pancakes of Maslenitsa. Comy are not simple pancakes, they are made from peas or beans, and also from bean flour. Comy sometimes called pumpkin pancakes, made with water. No butter! No milk! It means... lenten pancakes!

And this difference between comy and pancakes not a trifle. This is a clue!

Pancakes were made from the first milk got from the cow after calving. In February! At the time it was no artificial means of fertilization, it was not additives in food. Therefore, cows don't give milk all year round on a daily basis. Cow obeyed the solar cycle.

The first milk was so fatty that it could not even boil. It quickly turned into dairy butter. If you drink this milk, the liver won't be happy. At the same time this early milk, warmed by the first rays of the spring sun, was full of different minerals and vitamins to revive after winter defenses person... for the whole year! Cows gave such wonderful milk only in the first week. Want to be healthy – eat it, so it acted just like today's vaccinations. What to do? You do not eat a lot of dairy butter. What is the solution? Cheese and quark! By the way, long before the Christian era cheese and quark were called in one word – cheese.

Cooked in the Pancake week cheese was special! Special goodies, fat, but useful! Increased immunity.

Therefore Maslenitsa (also known as Butter Week) was called Cheese week. This celebration of the early spring and immunity was celebrated throughout Europe by all European peoples!

Comoeditsa is the spring equinox. Depending on the lunar and solar calendar cheese week come from year to year not on the same day. Plus/minus one week. But almost always in February. And the day of the vernal equinox - Comoeditsa - every year at the same time: on 21, 22, 23 March.

Between Maslenitsa (Cheese week) and Easter it was necessary to have fast. No milk, no meat, no fish! Comoeditsa always coincided with the fast. That's why in Comoeditsa allowed to eat only lean pancakes from peas and beans. And called them “comy”! Comy were thicker than usual pancakes, because they cooked without eggs.

Fasting is not a religious order from the top. This is advice of nature: if you wish to live the year in creativity, work and successfully – you need to have fast in the early spring. Gather your strength! Don't waste it on gluttony. If you overeat, the energy of the rising sun will not help you, all the power you need for digestion.

Fasting time has varied from year to year depending on ending of Cheese week and beginning of Easter. The word "Easter", however did not exist originally. The main holiday of the year used to be called "Great day" (Easter)!

Easter is always celebrated after Comoeditsa. Easter is a Christian holiday. Easter used to be called "Great day". Perhaps it is the most important national holiday. Therefore "Great day" (Easter) was called "Great". What did it mean? During the spring equinox day is equal night around the globe. The day begins to conquer the night. Light overcomes darkness. Darkness protects demons. You'd think - hurray, victory! The day gets longer, the evil give up! However, the old moon, (a moon is also the patroness of all sorts of vices), still maintains the demonic force. Therefore, it was necessary to wait until the full moon disappeared and appeared new and clean one, and only then to celebrate the victory of light over darkness. But we can celebrate it only on Sunday. A truly great day! It’s easy to calculate - the first Sunday after the first full moon after day of a spring equinox - Comoeditsa.

From this great day you can start planting, the Earth warmed up enough.

Ancient Russia was a peasant. The welfare of the majority of the Russian people depended on the harvest. Therefore it was called Great day, because from this day depended the whole future life. And the holidays were devoted to natural phenomena. Sowing, reaping, harvesting...

How ancestors could not respect the Sun, if without it, nothing would be on Earth?

Today, when money is the most important thing in the world, the majority of the world's population has forgotten about natural holidays. Some of them turned into religious holidays and lost the natural conformity, but some customs were survived. People are forgotten about Comoeditsa. By the way, some of the Slavic peoples called it Bear day. The thing is bears wake up in this springtime. People celebrated by dressing up in bear skins. The bear is a symbol of strength and favorite Slavic animal. Bear is smart! "Comy" pancakes symbolized the sun. But Maslenitsa pancakes symbolized emerging sun, and the "comy" pancakes – the sun that defeated the darkness.

Comoeditsa is a rebranding of earlier Slavic holiday - New Year! Yes, the New Year was initially celebrated by all European Nations in the month of March. In the day when darkness and light were compared in the day. By the way, is quite logical – the day get longer, so we count down the New Year. Word combination "New Year" was introduced in Russia by Peter the Great. Before that it was called "Novoletie". The New Year was celebrated in March, not only in Russia but also in Europe. The proof is today’s names of our months in many languages. Think about it: "December" from the word "Deka" - "tenth"! But December is the twelfth and final month of the year now. "October" - "Octo"- Eighth! October is the tenth month of the year. And so on...

The names of the current months clearly show us that the calendar "program" misroute.

That is when Novoletie replaced by Comoeditsa. Because Novoletie was celebrated at the end of the December. But the days of sunny and spring equinox was empty. A holy place is never empty! Imagine that Novoletie was celebrated by the peoples of Europe for many hundreds of years in March, and then postponed to 1 January. No, we will still continue to celebrate, because even the Roman Constitution would not be able to cancel March victory of the sun over darkness.

Why Roman Constitution? Because this failure occurred in Rome. Unlike their Northern neighbors - farmers and ranchers, a favorite pastime of the Romans was fighting and plundering - neighboring nations as well as their own people. Romans organized tax collection. Best time for tax collection is winter. It is difficult to fight especially with the barbarians in the North in the winter, so cold months are the time to gather the main harvest – taxes!

Tax collection became the main business of the Roman masters. Taxes needed to collect up to 25 December (while the night protects the evil force – tax collectors). The end of the tax collection was called "calende" in Latin. Many people today believe that from this word came the modern word "calendar". This is a very superficial view. The thing is the Romans didn't have precise calendar before Julius Caesar reformed and calculated the calendar, which still exist in our Orthodox Church. Funny, our Orthodox Church considers the Roman pagan calendar as only correct, while the whole world - Christian Gregorian calendar.

When Julius Caesar conquered the Celts, along with other trophies he brought to Rome some strange stones such as wheels, rotating relative to each other, covered with mysterious inscriptions. The Romans didn't even know it was Celtic calendar, which existed a thousand years before the founding of Rome. Generally I will express my opinion: compared with the Celts the Romans were the real…barbarians! Who doesn't believe me, can watch the documentary "Barbarians" directed by Terry Jones.

To understand the true traditional meaning of the word "calendar", you must turn to the history of Celts and Veneti. And other Slavic peoples: Scythians, Sarmatians, Cimmerians... So let me just say the main thing.

The Romans hated the Celts because they were more cultured, prosperous... and most importantly, that angered the Romans - the Celts had gold! So the Romans fought with the Celts. The Romans won, and as for wisdom, languish completely.

Sorry for the long digression, but I had to explain why suddenly the New Year was celebrated in late December. I repeat: the taxes collected!

Now, tax collection has become more important than natural phenomena. Here's the program malfunctioned.

Other nation also began to imitate Romans. The motto of the most part of European humanity became "more and more"!

Slavs also came under Roman influence. And for them, unfortunately, became the main law not the laws of nature, but trade and profit. Fair! When were major fairs held? In September, after the harvest! So the celebration of the New Year jumps from the spring equinox to the autumn! The crop is harvested – a great end of the year.

Later, when the calendar was digitized, the New Year began to be celebrated on 1 September. It's funny, but the Slavs celebrated the New Year almost twice a year for several centuries for several centuries: Comoeditsa and September 1. People are more revered the New Year in the spring, but the state considered as official New Year the end of summer.

Peter the Great put an end to the confusion. He even executed the Slavic calendar. In 1700 from the birth of Christ according to the calendar of our ancestors we were 7208 years. Oh! More than the Jews. Scientists still can't come to an agreement, when started this chronology. The theme of our old Slavonic calendar is so broad, that it will be interesting to devote a separate post.

Peter put an end to this calendar and introduced the Julian calendar. Though it is strange, because Europe already existed in the Gregorian calendar. Gregorian is Christian calendar. And Julian is Pagan.

Peter introduced the New Year celebration, so appeared this pleasant phrase "Happy New Year!" Initially, the New Year was called Vasiliev day. This was due to the name of the Saint. There is a new tradition, superstition. After all, the nature-conformity had already lost. Cheese week was renamed Maslenitsa and Novoletie – to Comeditsa. These feasts became a Christian. The pancakes ceased to be a symbol of the sun, turned into a memorial meal. Although, I believe it is absolutely not the Christian tradition – to come with pancakes on the grave of deceased ancestors. That is the real pagan!

The same thing happened with Easter. It was named Great Day. Even invented a legend that Mary Magdalene gave to some of the priests painted chicken egg at Easter and said, "Christ is Risen!" The tradition of giving each other eggs at Easter is known from the remotest antiquity. And has a logical explanation. While the villagers were fasting, gained power and solar energy, they didn't eat the eggs. And at Great Day time these eggs accumulate so much, it was impossible to eat it. So all went to the neighbors, friends, acquaintances, and gave each other egg. However, the justification for this tradition was philosophical. The egg was a symbol of the birth of a new life: the seed ripens in the male testis, female uterus also in the form of eggs. In addition, the egg is the symbol of the cosmos, Universe and nature. And painted with various colors of the egg symbolizes the blossoming and beauty itself in the spring of nature.

The word "Easter" is not Russian, from the Jewish "Passover". Non-Christian origin. Passover is a holiday of pagan Jews. It was celebrated as Easter, in Europe, in those spring days. Later was transferred and dedicated to the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt and became a feast of the Jews. The Christians gave the holiday a different meaning.

I know there is another explanation of the word "Easter-Passover". From the roots of Aryan words. But that's another story.

However, back to our New Year, today's favorite Slavic holiday. This holiday has no natural essence! Only tax collection. Well, maybe day of the circumcision of Jesus. I think that on this day there were several important events at the intersection of the past and present eras.

In General, the Russian word "holidays" is very true. The combination of "ZD" means "health", "PR" -- "nature"! Even the very word "holiday" includes the natural conformity of the day.

In the Latvian language "health" - "veseliba"(fun). Very wisely! Who is fun – that's healthy. A "celebration" in Latvian – "svetki". It means the “holy days”! Latvians have preserved the linguistic roots of the wends.

We can see how has degenerated and lost the natural conformity of the holidays. It was necessary to invent new rituals, for new memorials. But it was easy for people which have lost the knowledge of nature.

And now about the accusations that I call back to paganism. Nonsense! I absolutely do not accept the way back. Always forward, but with caution, otherwise you can trip over. I began to receive letters: "shame on You, You're a Christian, but You didn’t appreciate Christianity". Reply! I distinguish two concepts of "Christian" and "crazy Christian". I'm a Christian. Christians – those who try to live according to the teachings of Jesus. And crazy Christian only observes the rituals and thinks that this is enough in order to be considered Christians.

There is a bookstore in Riga; it is headed not by Christians, but by crazy Christian. They refuse to sell in it my books. They say, I'm advocating anti-Christianity, paganism in my books. Now compare this: I created a library in Riga in which people read books for free and come 70-80 people a day. And the owners of this bookstore are cashing in on selling books, including Christian theme! Which one of us is a true Christian and who is crazy Christian? Jesus said very precisely: "Take the merchants out of the temple." Jesus understood what it meant, knowledge of the laws of nature. And tried to return humanity from the hypocrisy and lies in which it is mired.

So let's blame Pushkin in Anti-Christianity. Remember what he wrote about priest? Not going to talk about Tolstoy, which honors the world. And considers as the greatest writer on Earth. He fought against crazy Christian.

Finally, let stigmatized Greece and all Greeks. They are Orthodox, and still are proud of the temples of Zeus, Artemis, Apollo, but those gods are in fact pagan! Why did the Greeks have the right to remember and talk about the Dionysia festival and we can’t speak our ancestors?

Denying the past, spit in the future!

Today remains people on Earth; they're not just but feel the laws of nature and live by those laws. They are as lonely sunflowers among fields of "night blindness". They always turn their heads towards the sun. Their seeds ripen and give strength. But they first cut off their heads.

In Europe the Catholics, the Christians were called sorcerers and witches, those who have not lost the natural knowledge.

In the first Cathedral in Rome, the “Holy fathers”, pardon for the modern word, ordered killers and destroyed their opponents in the dispute about when to celebrate Easter and how!

To not leave any information about natural traditions, Christians destroyed during the horrible mess in the late fourth century Library of Alexandria in Egypt, where scrolls were kept with the ancient and wise knowledge. No, it was not Christians, it was crazy Christian!

So I do not call back to paganism. I would rather suggest to most Christianity returning to the truth and becoming Christians! Jesus called us to the knowledge of the truth. He considered hypocrites and pharisees as the destroyers of truth.

Our holidays need to remain a Christian. We need to call Maslenitsa and Easter in Orthodox. We must not return to the name Cheese week, Comoeditsa or Velikoden’. But to restore the knowledge of how to in order to feel the impact of the emerging sun, to make "vaccination" to improve immunity, boost your good mood for the whole year - it is necessary! And to live happily, joyfully and happily! But for this it is necessary to know the main thing – the nature from which we evolved. And read the legal laws, of course, also necessary, but in order to not to be prisoner.

I am proud that it is in Christianity - and only in Christianity – on crosses of some churches remained sun! This is the result of what the Russian people for a very long time was the so-called belief in two different religions. Christian and pre-Christian holidays celebrated almost until the middle of XVII century.

That's why the Slavs in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine still retained the ancient traditions: games, fun of our ancestors. However, their meaning is lost.

Life in Russia really came to life, when the most people will return to the knowledge of the laws of nature. Even better if ever the legal laws will be written in accord with natural laws. And then the elections "will give" appropriate wise person, and not stuffed with modern technology manager. Today is so much controversy about who to choose from the presidential candidates. Let's look at them from the point of view of natural law. In ancient times, for example, Prokhorov would never become a candidate for the Grand Duke. He has no wife, no children. How can a person who has not made his home, to govern a state? Yes, he has built many homes, but it's just a building, luxurious, but cold, like the icebergs of the Snow Queen. I would give advice to Prokhorov – he's a very intelligent man and extremely able to marry in the next four years, the birth of a child, to elevate the energy of the family, though one of their super homes and to propose his candidacy next time.

From this point of view of natural law can be seen, by the way, any of the candidates. But I don't want to do it.

There's no way Russia while we think that our life is governed by the laws of trade, and not of nature. Just until we figure out that we should have more farmers, not bureaucrats, not businessmen, not managers!
